GSR graduate student researcher (research lab pays)
GSI graduate student instructor (Optometry pays)
training grant or other fellowship (Vision Science group pays)
First 3 years: All fees, tuition and living stipend ($23,000)
paid by Vision Science group & GSI (possibly shifted to
GSR in 3rd year).
Years 4 and beyond: Almost always funded with GSR. In
special cases funding will be from GSI.
The GSI/GSR tradeoff could depend on your future plans.
